The Citi Bike Valet Service in Battery Park City, which ran as a pilot program from August through November 2016, has been relaunched and will run through November 3.
The service will be available Monday through Friday, 7:30am-7:30pm at the West and Chambers Streets station, one of the CitiBike system’s busiest stations.
During these hours, Citi bike employees will be working at the station to ensure that there are always bikes available to be taken out, and spaces available for people to dock their bikes. At the West and Chambers Streets station and other busy stations across New York, these are the biggest obstacles users can face when trying to take out or dock their bikes.
Shari C. Hyman, Battery Park City Authority President and Chief Operating Officer, said: “We’re pleased to relaunch Citi Bike Valet Service for downtown’s many cyclists. Whether you’re starting or stopping your trip here in Battery Park City, the valet option promises to deliver another great season of riding fun!”
During the 2016 pilot program, a total of 8,744 bikes were corralled. On average, each day staff served 159 customers in the morning and 103 customers in the afternoon and evening – this was a fivefold increase in the station’s morning capacity and a threefold increase in its afternoon/evening capacity. Overall, over 30,000 trips started and 33,500 trips ended at the West and Chambers Streets station during this period.
The service will be offered all weekdays except for Tuesday, July 4, and Monday, September 4.
