With over 60,000 volumes of poetry, over 80,000 visitors annually and millions of viewers online, Poets House sets the standard for national literary programming.
On February 12, America’s poetry library elected new leadership to its board of directors.
Nicholas Potter was elected president of the board of directors, has been a member of the board since 2006, works at Debevoise and Plimpton and has recently worked as pro bono legal council for the board.
After being elected, Potter stated, “Poetry and the law share a home in language, I am thrilled to serve an organization that promotes human understanding, connection and dialogue through poetry.”
Linda Earle was elected vice president, has been a member of the board since 2011, and currently works as executive director of the New York Arts Program.
These newly elected leaders will look to expand and serve the already sizable national audience Poets House has built. The New York Times has called Poets House that “hybrid study hall and exhibition space that floats like a utopian dream over the Hudson.”
