Archtober 2019 Building Tour: Schermerhorn Row and the Seaport

Stories Survive Speaker Series: Steve Hess
Museum of Jewish Heritage
At this monthly Stories Survive Speaker Series, hear Holocaust survivors share their life stories in their own words. Steve Hess was born in Holland in 1938. He was deported to Westerbork Transit camp with his parents and twin sister Marion. They were eventually deported to Bergen-Belsen and imprisoned there for a year. They emigrated to the United States in 1947. Free 36 Battery Place.

Battery Park City’s annual ‘Dockappella’ festival features some of the most acclaimed college a cappella groups in the country. Six ensembles from NYU, Northeastern, Columbia, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania and Berklee
College of Music will be performing indie hits, pop favorites, and jazz classics along the banks of the Hudson – with the Statue of Liberty as backdrop.
