Tag: Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
In regard to Mr. Goodkind’s letter in the April 28 BroadsheetDAILY that suggests BPC should become part of New York City:With corruption appearing to ooze out in many directions from the Mayor’s office, why would anyone want to place Battery Park City under the city’s control?

A far better solution would be to increase local representation on the BPCA board; given all the neighborhood concern, it seems probable that this will eventually happen.

Ironically, Mr. Goodkind’s letter appears directly below the Broadsheet article which discusses downtown construction and includes this quote, “Seven weeks ago, four elected officials  representing Lower Manhattan wrote to City Hall for…oversight of construction in Lower Manhattan. They have yet to receive the courtesy of a reply”.

Why in the world would we want to subject our community to the unresponsiveness or worseof City Hall?

Seeking Consultation on the Concourse

To the editor: re: Seeking Consultation on the Concourse, (BroadsheetDAILY February 16), I am writing to provide a point of clarification for your readers. The article asserts that Community Board (CB) 1’s Battery Park City Committee was not briefed on the preliminary results of our South End Avenue Assessment, despite its request. In fact, on...

Crossing the Street Safely

To the editor: re: Monday’s letter, Crossing the Street Safely, I am pleased to provide some context for your readers. Allied Universal Battery Park City Ambassadors are focused on the community they serve, actively engaging residents for feedback, and responding to concerns as they arise. When the Ambassadors began serving the Battery Park City community,...

Crossing the Street Safely

To the editor: I have noticed lately that the Allied Barton security guards have been directing pedestrians and traffic at Battery Place and 2nd place during drop off at PS 276. On a recent morning there was one guard on Battery Place as in the attached photo and another standing in front of 2nd Place....

Freedom of Speech

To the editor: I simply could not let the letter from the person who signed their letter as “Craig S.” go unanswered. Ms. Glick represents the MAJORITY of the people in her district in terms of her views on family planning issues, and when you’re in the minority, you have to just deal with that....

Freedom of Speech

To the editor, I find Jerrold Nadler’s actions so offensive! How many times have other congressmen and senators felt like Nadler. How many have objected to the newly elected president and how many have refused to attend the elected president’s inauguration? Nadler is not worthy of being our congressman and should step down. I just...

Ms. Glick and Mr. Trump

To the editor: We are blessed to live in a country where pro-life views are respected and honored by our politicians, and our media. I fully expect that the March for Life in Washington D.C will get as much attention and respect as the Women’s March did (which prohibited pro-life groups from participating). Not! Ms....
