To the editor:
So what am I missing here?
Was there an Occupy South End Avenue protest in the streets of BPC demanding change recently? Where is the public outcry demanding the makeover of South End Avenue and filling in the arcades?
This seems to be yet another solution in search of a problem, and another example of a tone deaf BPCA justifying its existence to the detriment of the people who call BPC home, unlike most of the BPCA. A colossal waste of time and money, but then again this is New York.

To the editor:
I propose that the next BPCA Town Hall focus on Finances, i.e. the Authority budget, operational and capital expenses, issuance of bonds, etc.
Property owners here pay significant amounts to the Authority and we should be informed about how money is raised and spent.
The first issue regarding the look of South End Ave. is whether the improvements justify the costs.
Thanks

Yes, the underlying questions are (1) “Whose interest is being served in this ‘upgrading’ of South End Avenue?” and (2) ” Beyond all the fancy consultant reports, (bottom line) what is/are those interests and to whose benefit?” That synopsis at the next BPCA Community Meeting with a valid plan for some kind of public voting system will put an end to this matter. Then we can move on to the issue of creating an authentic public voice for BPC residents regarding all Authority plans that affect the neighborhood’s quality of life. These people work for us, not for themselves and the governor.
