To the editor:
You wrote (BroadsheetDAILY November 14) “….793 incidents per 1,000 residents every year. This means that a typical denizen of Lower Manhattan has nearly an 80 percent chance of being unlawfully deprived of at least one piece of valuable property in an average year.”
You do realize that lower Manhattan has 4-5 employees for every resident. It is more accurate to say that a typical resident or worker has a 15-20 percent chance of being lawfully deprived…..even before you subtract out the multiple thefts from the same person.
