Battery Park City Parks Conservancy Annual Art Exhibition will have an opening reception on the corner of 2nd place and Battery Place on Sunday, January 31 from 1 pm to 3pm.
This annual art exhibit features art created by all ages of the public that are in BPC Parks free programs.
Although the opening reception is January 31, the art exhibit will remain open to view by the public through Friday, March 4 and visiting hours are 2 pm to 4 pm.
“Nothing is a better demonstration of the wonderful relationship we have with our program participants than our annual art show where over 100 works from our artists are on display. We hope everyone throughout the Battery Park City community will take a moment to stroll to our Parks offices and take a look at what our artists have produced this year,” said Shari C. Hyman, President of Battery Park City Authority and Parks.
Battery Park City Parks offers the public free art classes and includes all the materials needed.
“The free art classes we offer here at Battery Park City Parks are a wonderful opportunity to explore and expand your creative side,” said Shari C. Hyman.
The art lessons include watercolor painting, charcoal painting, pen drawing, wood drawing and more as the lessons are for experienced and novice artists alike.
The art lessons are mainly during the summer and into the fall, beginning May 1 and ending October 31. These lessons are for anyone of all ages who wants to learn how to transform a piece of clay into a vehicle, an animal or other creative projects.
