Smorgasburg has returned to the Oculus Plaza of the Word Trade Center complex, offering comestibles from a curated roster of vendors each Friday from 11am to 6pm, now through the end of summer. Smorgasburg, which brings more than 100 vendors to at open-air locations in Williamsburg, Prospect Park, and Jersey City each week, and specializes in small-batch and artisanal foods, is no stranger to Lower Manhattan, after offering similar pop-ups at the South Street Seaport for several years and planting its flag at the World Trade Center in 2018. (The group has since expanded to Miami; Osaka, Japan; and Sao Paulo, Brazil.) Among the dozens of gastronomers slated to provide unique bites this year are Bang Cookies, Blake N Kylee’s Creole Kitchen, Carlitos Barbecue Taqueria, D’Abruzzo, Duck Season, Fomo Momo, Jakarta Munch, Mao’s Bao, Oconomi, and Petisco Brazuca. For any participant wishing to burn off some of the calories accumulated, the same location will host free Wellness Wednesdays, presented by the Port Authority in partnership with Sputnik Yoga. Each Wednesday afternoon from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, programming will feature a variety of classes from yoga to meditation to high intensity interval training.
Upcoming highlights include Dance Flow (a mindful movement dance class that blends ballet and jazz) tomorrow, May 17, and HIIT And Flow (an all-in-one fitness class that combines cardio, strength, and flexibility exercises for a full-body workout) next Wednesday, May 24. Admission is free. Click here for more details.
