| The 15th annual Dine Around Downtown food festival will be held today (Wednesday, June 8), from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, at 28 Liberty Plaza (enter at Nassau and Liberty Streets). More than 40 restaurants from the length and breadth of Lower Manhattan will come together, hosted by chef, cookbook author, and Food Network star by Alex Guarnaschelli.”
A partial list of participating restaurants includes: Bobby Van’s Steakhouse; the Capital Grille; Cowgirl Sea-Horse; Delmonico’s Restaurant; the Dubliner; the Growler Bites & Brews; Harry’s Café; Harry’s Italian; Haru Sushi; Le District; Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina; Morton’s the Steakhouse; Nelson Blue; Route 66 Smokehouse; Smörgås Chef; Ulysses’ Folk House; and Vintry Wine & Whiskey. There will also be a preview tasting of Eataly, soon to open in the World Trade Center complex.
Admission to the enormously popular event (which draws more than 15,000 guests) is free, and small plates are priced at $3.00 to $7.00. There will also be a live performance by the All-Stars, the musical ensemble of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. Dine Around Downtown is co-presented by the Downtown Alliance and Fosun Properties (the owners of 28 Liberty, formerly known as Chase Manhattan Plaza). |
