Male Singers Please Apply – The Down Town Glee Club – a male chorale founded more than ninety years ago, is searching for singers in all voice parts, to supplement our ranks for the annual Spring Concert, to be held on Thursday, May 9.
The concert –
Lost in the Stars – will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing and America’s “giant leap” into space exploration. Consistent with the theme, the program will include “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Lost in the Stars,” “Moon River,” “Stella by Starlight,” “Blue Moon,” “Moonglow,” and “Moonlight Serenade,” not to mention Elton John’s “Rocket Man” as well as “Space Oddity,” written by David Bowie. Candidates not required to read music or have prior choral or choir experience.
